Welcome to the Microsoft OneNote 2007 Essentials workshop. Have you ever wished that you could track appointments, take meeting notes, record research, and keep to-do items all in one place? Well, you can do all that and more with OneNote 2007! In this course, we’ll show you how.
To get started, we’re going to learn the very basics of OneNote, including how to open and close it and how to use the interface.
Now that we know how to use OneNote, it’s time to learn how to create a notebook. In this module, you’ll learn everything you need to know to get started, including how to type and handwrite text, copy and paste objects into OneNote from other applications, and use the Formatting toolbar to modify text.
In the last module, we learned how to create a basic notebook. This module will take you a step farther and give you some editing tools that you can use in OneNote.
Since OneNote is primarily an application to help you gather and organize information, it makes sense that it would offer many ways to sort data. In this module, we will look at the smallest levels of organization: pages and sub-pages.
In this module, we’ll learn how to create interactive objects that can help you gather information and save time. Some topics to look forward to: • Creating bulleted and numbered lists • Organizing information into tables • Adding screenshots and pictures from your computer • Inserting files from other programs
In addition to standard objects like text, tables, and pictures, OneNote also offers the ability to add other objects to your notebook. In this module, we’ll learn how to add Outlook items, audio, video, and other files to your notebook. We’ll also learn how to use OneNote’s calculator.
In this module, we will look at how to draw shapes in your notebook. We’ll also look at various shape-related tasks, including selecting, rotating, resizing, and formatting shapes.
So far, we have learned a lot about OneNote. You should be able to create many types of notes, including text, audio, videos, and drawings. However, the more you use OneNote, the more important organizational tools will be so that you can find information when you need it. In this module, we will learn about several of OneNote’s organizational tools.
So far, we have looked at many parts of a notebook, including pages, sections, and section groups. In this module we’ll look at notebooks themselves.
To wrap up the course, we’re going to learn how to view and share OneNote information in a variety of ways.
Although this workshop is coming to a close, we hope that your journey to improve your OneNote skills is just beginning. Please take a moment to review and update your action plan. This will be a key tool to guide your progress in the days, weeks, months, and years to come. We wish you the best of luck on the rest of your travels!
