In this module, you will learn to open and close PowerPoint. You will also explore the PowerPoint interface, and become familiar with the different panes. Finally, you will create a new, blank presentation.

Module 2 : Working with Presentations

In this module, you will learn how to create presentations based on a template. When you are working on a presentation, you should save it regularly, in order to protect your work. You will also learn how to access the presentations you have already created. You will learn how to save and open presentations. Finally, you will learn how to close a presentation.

Module 3 : Your First Presentation

Presentations consist of slides. Each slide can contain text, graphics, animations and more. In this module, you will learn to add text to a slide, and to add slides to a presentation. At any time you can change the order of your slides using the Slides tab. Spell Check helps ensure there are no errors.

Module 4 : Formatting Text

Although PowerPoint has a lot of formatting built in to it, you can also choose to apply additional formatting. In this module, you will learn how to change the font type and size, the color and spacing of the text, as well as how to apply bold and italics. Although you can do most formatting using the Home tab, you can also open the Font dialog to gain access to all formatting choices. Finally, you will learn how to clear formatting if you don’t like it.

Module 5 : Formatting Paragraphs

PowerPoint slides tend to be made of short, succinct paragraphs – perhaps not even using full sentences. You can use paragraph formatting to ensure they look exactly how you want them to. In this module, you will learn how to use bullets and numbering, change the alignment, and work with indents and tabs. You can also change the spacing between the lines of your paragraphs.

In this module, you will learn how to move and copy text, including the Office Clipboard. You will learn to use Undo to reverse your last action(s), and Redo to repeat them. And you will see that you can replace words throughout your presentation using Find and Replace.

Module 7 : Advanced Formatting Tasks

It’s time to make your presentation look better! In this module, you will learn how to use the Format Painter to quickly transfer formatting from one place to another. You will add a background to your slides by applying a background style, and then by applying a Theme. You can then change the color scheme of a theme. Finally, you will learn how to change the slide layout.

Module 8 : Customizing Slide Elements

The next step is to customize your presentation. In this module, you will learn how to add header and footers to your slides. Then, you will add animation to your presentation, starting with the built in animations, and moving to custom animation. Finally, you will control how your slides appear on the screen, by setting transitions and advance options.
