This workshop incorporates a hands-on approach to learning. They will get a chance to practice some of the basic features right on a computer.

In this module, you will learn to open and close OneNote. You will also explore the OneNote interface, including the new Backstage view. You’ll learn about the OneNote icon and how to dock OneNote to the desktop mode. Finally, you will learn how to close OneNote.
This module explains how the OneNote notebooks work. You’ll learn how to create and save a new notebook. The module also covers how to search your notebook to find the information you need when you need it. Finally, you’ll also learn how to open and close notebooks.
In this module, you will learn how to work with pages and subpages. You’ll learn how to move, rename, and delete pages. You’ll also learn how to work with sections and section groups.
OneNote 2010 allows you to use the keyboard to enter text, or a tablet PC to take handwritten notes. This module explains how to type or handwrite text in your notebook. It also explains how to use copy and paste to add items from other applications. You’ll how to add extra writing space in this module, as well as how to format your fonts and paragraphs and apply styles.
This module introduces some of other types of objects you can add to your notebook besides text and pasted objects. First we’ll look at creating lists and tables. Then you’ll learn how to insert pictures and screen clippings. Finally, you’ll learn how to use OneNote for researching.
It’s easy to polish your notes in OneNote 2010. This module covers how to use the Page Setup group of tools to determine size and color of your page, and whether the page shows the title or rule lines. This module also explains how to resize and move objects. You’ll learn how to use undo and redo in this module. Finally, this module covers how to check your spelling.
In this module, we’ll introduce some other objects you can place in your notes: calculators, audio files, and video files. We’ll also discuss how to link your note to an Outlook Meeting or link to a file on your computer or network.
In this module, we will look at how to draw shapes in your notebook. We’ll also look at various shape-related tasks, including selecting, rotating, resizing, and formatting shapes.
This module explains ways to help you manage your notes. Tags are one way of organizing notes, and we’ll look at how to use tags in this module. Anytime you send or write a quick note while you are working in another application, the note often goes to the Unfiled section. We’ll discuss how to handle those notes to help you manage that information. This module also covers how to use the history and how to link your pages like a wiki.
This module will introduce a few last features of OneNote. Some items are automatically time stamped in OneNote, but this module will explain how to manually stamp those that are not. We’ll take a look at different ways to view the OneNote window to maximize your note-taking room, or to make room for other activities. You’ll learn how to protect your notebook with a password if it contains information that you don’t want others to see. This module will explain how to use OneNote backups. Finally, we’ll also discuss how to e-mail and print your notes.
