Your participants will learn how to use the advanced features of Outlook 2013. This workshop is designed to provide a solid understanding of Outlook 2013. Participants will be shown a practical way of learning with a hands-on and customizable approach. They will get a chance to experience some of the new features that are offered in Outlook 2013.

Outlook 2013helps you manage your busy life through its calendar and social connectors. With Outlook 2013 you are given a sleeker more efficient way to organize and communicate. With a new and improved user interface and a more powerful search tool your participants will increase their productivity as they will be able to manage their information more efficiently!

Introduction : Getting Started

Welcome to the Microsoft Outlook 2013 Advanced workshop. In this workshop, we’ll cover some of the more advanced tasks in Outlook 2013, like customizing your Outlook interface and your profile. You’ll learn how to use Word elements in your E-mails. This course explains some of the advanced e-mail, calendar, and task commands, as well as the Notes feature. You’ll also learn about RSS feeds and how to manage and protect your Outlook data.

Module 1 : Working with Messages

In this module, you’ll learn how to add some sparkle to your messages with formatting and pictures. First, we’ll look at formatting fonts and paragraphs. Next, we’ll learn how to use styles and themes. We’ll also learn how to spell check and use other research tools. Finally, we’ll look at inserting pictures and screenshots into your messages.

Module 2 : Customizing Your Profile

In this module, you’ll learn how to create a signature to include at the bottom of your messages. You’ll also learn about using stationery options in Outlook. This module explains how to enable or disable automatic spell checking. Finally, we’ll take a look at using categories with your messages to help you stay organized.

Module 3 : Advanced Email Tasks

This module introduces you to some additional features in Outlook to control your messages. You can delay the delivery of a message to a specified date and time. We’ll also learn how to direct replies to a message to a different email address. This module explains how to use the voting buttons so that you can collect votes for various items via email. We’ll also learn how to set the message priority. Finally, we’ll look at the Tracking options for a message.

Module 4 : Managing Junk Mail

Outlook can filter out certain types of messages and send them to a separate folder to keep your Message List from being cluttered with junk mail. Outlook can also disable links in suspicious “phishing” type messages to protect you from malicious messages. This module will address how to control these features so that you only have to look at the messages you want, and you make sure to see all the messages you want.

Module 5 : Advanced Calendar Tasks

This module will explain how to perform some advanced calendar tasks. You’ll learn how to create a recurring appointment. You’ll also learn how to create a meeting request and track meeting responses. You’ll learn about using categories for your appointments. This module explains how to change your calendar options. It also explains calendar groups.

Module 6 : Doing More With Tasks

The same type of recurrence options are available with tasks as you found with appointments and meetings. In this module, we’ll also learn about assigning a task. We’ll take an in-depth look at the Details option for a new task, and we’ll also look at the Task Options.

Module 7 : Using Notes

This module explains how to use the Notes feature in Outlook 2013. You’ll learn how to open the Notes folder and create a note. You’ll also learn how to edit a note. This module shows you how to color code your notes using Categories. Finally, you’ll learn how to change note views.

Module 8 : Viewing RSS Feeds

This module explains how to use Rich Site Summary (RSS) feeds (also known as Really Simple Syndication), which is a way to feed web content directly to your Inbox whenever a website is updated. You’ll learn how to add an RSS feed to Outlook 2013. You’ll learn how to modify or delete RSS feeds. This module also explains how to view a feed and work with feed items.

Module 9 : Printing

While you may be used to using Outlook only on your computer, there are a wide range of printing options. This module looks at how to print attachments, calendars, as well as multiple messages, multiple contact records, multiple notes at one time and multiple tasks from your to do list at one time.

Module 10 : Managing Outlook Data

With use, your Outlook Inbox can get unmanageable or overwhelming unless you perform some maintenance. This module explains two methods of cleanup: how to clean up folders and how to use mailbox cleanup. You’ll also learn about data configuration and archiving old data. Outlook stores all of your messages, contact information, calendars, tasks and other items in a Personal Storage Folder (PST). You’ll learn how to backup your Outlook data. You’ll also learn how to add a new PST file, open a PST file and close a PST file.
