Welcome to the Office 365 Outlook Essentials workshop. With Office 365, you can access your inbox anywhere from any computer that has an internet connection and a web browser. In the Office 365 Outlook web app, you can collaborate and keep up to date with built in tools that Outlook is known for.

The Office 365 experience is designed to render your documents and emails to look exactly like they would when printed, from nearly anywhere in the world. This tool provides its users the freedom to work from anywhere.

Introduction : Getting Started

Welcome to the Office 365 Outlook Web App Essentials workshop. With Office 365, you can access your inbox anywhere from any computer that has an internet connection and a web browser.

Module 1 : Welcome to Office 365 Web Apps

While the Office 365 Web Apps are available to anyone who has either a Windows Skydrive account or a SharePoint site, in this course, we will assume that your organization is using the SharePoint site. In this module, we’ll introduce the web apps by discussing how to sign on, the Home Page, and opening and closing Outlook. We’ll also take a look at the Outlook 365 interface and some of its features.

Module 2 : Working with Your Inbox (I)

The Office 365 experience allows you to access your mailbox from anywhere on any computer with an internet connection and a browser. You can keep track of your messages in the Inbox, tracking which ones you’ve handled. In this module, you’ll learn about viewing the inbox and filtering messages. You’ll learn how to check the messages. We’ll discuss how to mark an item as read or unread. You’ll also learn about ignoring conversations. Finally, we’ll cover how to reply or forward a message right from the Inbox.

Module 3 : Working with Your Inbox (II)

In this module, we continue working with the Inbox. First, you’ll learn how to change your view of the Inbox. Next, you’ll learn how to use folders – creating, renaming, moving, and deleting folders, as well as how to move messages to folders. We’ll discuss how to add folders to your Favorites group. Finally, we’ll take a look at Junk Mail options.

Module 4 : Creating a New E-Mail

Now it is time to start learning how to send messages. First, you’ll learn how to create a new e-mail message. You’ll learn about the address book, and how to address messages. Then you’ll learn about finishing your message, such as spell checking and setting the options. This module explains the difference between attaching a file and inserting a picture, and you’ll learn how to do both. Finally, we’ll practice sending the message.

Module 5 : Managing E-Mail Messages

This module goes into greater depths on the messages that you receive. We’ll open the message window and look at the tools that are available there, including starting a chat session with the message sender. This module also explains how to view message details, print a message, or delete a message.

Module 6 : Using Outlook’s Organizational Tools

In this module, you’ll learn how to flag an item for follow up. You’ll also learn how to assign categories to your messages and other items. Next, we’ll look at searches, both simple searches and more complex searches. This module also explains how to create rules, both a simple rule based on a selected message, and a more advanced rule.

Module 7 : Outlook Options

You’ve learned quite a lot about e-mail! Now we get into some features that not everyone will need, but are nice to know. First, we’ll look at the Outlook options window. You’ll learn about automatic replies – those messages that get sent to let people know you are on vacation or otherwise can’t reply with the usual response time. Then we’ll create an e-mail group. Finally, you’ll learn how to create a signature.

Module 8 : An Introduction to the Calendar

This module is all about the calendar. First, we’ll take a look at the calendar interface. Then, you’ll learn how to create an appointment and a meeting request. It’s easy to change an appointment once you’ve scheduled it. This module also explains the reminders. In this module, you’ll learn about the different calendar views. You’ll also learn how to share your calendar.

Module 9 : An Introduction to Contacts

This module explains the contacts feature in Outlook 365. You’ll learn about the Contacts interface first. Then you’ll learn how to import contacts. The module walks you through the process of creating a new contact, as well as different tasks you can perform while in a contact window. Finally, we’ll look at creating and working with a group.

Module 10 : An Introduction to Tasks

This module introduces the Tasks list, where you can keep track of all of your things to do. First, we’ll look at the interface and learn about the different views of the task list. You’ll learn how to create a new task and how to set a date and reminder. You’ll also learn how to set a repeating task. This module explains how you can forward a task to another person on your team to manage complex projects. Finally, we’ll learn how to update the task status.

Conclusion : Wrapping Up
