PowerPoint 2010 Expert

Your participants will learn how to use the advanced features of PowerPoint 2010. This workshop is designed to go beyond a basic understanding and to explore the more advanced features of PowerPoint 2010 in a practical way. This workshop incorporates a hands-on approach to learning. They will get a chance to practice some of the advanced features right on a computer.

PowerPoint 2010 is a powerful presentation for the presentation of visual and graphical items. You can do everything from creating simple handouts to developing an animated presentation with audio.

Introduction : Getting Started

Welcome to the Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 Expert workshop. Get ready to take your presentations to the next level! In this course, we’ll unlock the secrets to make you a PowerPoint expert.

Module 1 : Working with the PowerPoint Environment

In this module, you’ll learn about customizing the PowerPoint environment to work the way you want. First, you’ll learn about the different views available in PowerPoint and learn how to change to a different view. You’ll also learn about configuring the PowerPoint options. Then you’ll learn how to add a command to the Ribbon or to the Quick Access toolbar for easy access to the tools you use most. Finally, this module explains how to work with multiple presentations at once.

Module 2 : Working with Presentations

This module will help you work with your presentations. First, we’ll look at using custom slide sizes to make sure that your presentation matches the target audience screen. We’ll also look at changing the slide orientation or the orientation of the notes and other pages. This module also explains how to create slides based on an outline. You’ll learn how to reuse slides from a slide library. Finally, you’ll learn how to reorganize slides.

Module 3 : Formatting Presentations

This module will get your presentation looking great. First, you’ll learn how to use sections to make formatting large presentations a breeze. This module also explains how to switch to a different slide layout. You’ll also learn to use footers and slide fills. Finally, you’ll learn to save your own themes to use again and again

Module 4 : Formatting Text Boxes

Command your text boxes to do your will after this module! You’ll learn about text box fills, as well as other shapes and effects. You’ll learn how to set text box alignment, internal margins, and wrapping. You’ll also learn how to use Autofit. Finally, you’ll learn how to set up a default text box so that all of your future text boxes for a presentation have the same settings.

Module 5 : Creating a Photo Album

In this module, you can create a stunning photo album using the best PowerPoint tools to enhance your presentation. First, you’ll learn how to insert a photo album, choosing the photos, the layout, and whether to include text boxes or captions. You’ll also learn how to edit a photo album to reorder the photos, adjust your image rotation, brightness, and contrast. This module also explains how to crop a photo to a rectangle shape or another type of shape. We’ll talk about changing and resetting a picture. Finally, you’ll learn how to compress pictures to reduce the file size of your presentation.

Module 6 : Working with Graphical Elements

In this module, we’ll continue working with picture tools, focusing more on graphical shapes. First, you’ll learn how to use the selection pane to simplify selecting a specific object on a slide with many objects or layers. You’ll also learn about precise positioning of shapes. You’ll learn how to apply a shape style. This module also introduces you to shape points – a tool to help you create your own shapes. Finally, you’ll learn how to add hyperlinks to your shapes, such as when creating your own buttons.

Module 7 : Working with Audio and Video Content

In this module, you’ll learn how to adjust those audio and video files that can really enhance a presentation or allow you to set up a kiosk. First, you’ll learn how to change the picture that indicates an audio clip. You’ll take a closer look at both the audio tools format tab and the audio tools playback tab. You’ll also take a closer look at the video tools format tab and the video tools playback tab.

Module 8 : Working with Transitions and Animations

In this module, you’ll learn to polish your transitions and animations. First, you’ll learn how to work with transition effects. You’ll also learn some other tools for working with transitions. Then you’ll learn how to choose animation paths or even create a custom path. Finally, you’ll learn how to manipulate those animations until they are just right using the Animations pane and the Animations Effects Options dialog box.

Module 9 : Collaborating on Presentations

In this module, you’ll learn how to be more productive when working with a team to finalize a presentation. You’ll learn how to use review comments. You’ll also learn how to show or hide review markup. This module explains how to navigate those review comments. You’ll also learn how to merge presentations so that you can compare and combine them.

Module 10 : Delivering Presentations

You’ll be ready to take your slide shows on the road after this module. First, we’ll look at saving presentations in different formats. You’ll also learn how to save a slide (or all slides) or an object as a picture file. You’ll learn how to protect a presentation either by marking it as final or by password protecting it. This module explains how to set up presenter view to see your presenter notes on one monitor, while showing the slides without notes to your audience on another monitor. You’ll also learn how to show media controls for audio and video clips during the presentation. This module explains how to use annotations as well. Finally, you can rehearse your timings so that you know exactly how long to spend on each slide.
