PowerPoint 2013 Advanced

Your participants will learn how to use the improved features of PowerPoint 2013. This workshop is designed to get into the advanced features of PowerPoint 2013. Participants will be shown a practical way of learning with a hands-on and customizable approach. They will get a chance to experience some of the new features that are offered in PowerPoint 2013.

PowerPoint 2013 is the world’s premier presentation software. With PowerPoint 2013 you are provided a new landing screen which makes launching and creating documents easier than previous versions. There is also an improved Presentation View with gives your presentations that extra focus. PowerPoint 2013 also has an improved user interface with an array of powerful tools to help you share your presentations through Skydrive!

Introduction : Getting Started

Welcome to the Microsoft PowerPoint 2013 Advanced workshop. PowerPoint is a powerful presentation for the presentation of visual and graphical items. You can do everything from creating simple handouts to developing an animated presentation with audio. The Advanced workshop will go into more detail with shapes and other objects, as well as audio and video.

Module 1 : Working with Shapes

In this module, you’ll get a chance to get more familiar with different types of shapes. You’ll learn how to insert a shape and use the drawing tools tab. This module reviews the color-matching eyedropper, a new feature in PowerPoint 2013 to match colors to an object on your slide. You’ll learn about shape fill and outline. This module also explains the shape effects. Finally, you’ll learn how to use Smart Guides.

Module 2 : Working with Text Boxes

In this module, you’ll learn how to insert and add text to a text box. You’ll also learn about resizing, moving, and deleting objects. The process is the same, whether you are using a text box, a picture, or another type of shape. You’ll also learn about fill, outline, and effects when working with text.

Module 3 : Adding SmartArt

You may have already used SmartArt graphics using a content placeholder when you add a new slide in PowerPoint 2013. This module will show you how to add a SmartArt graphic anywhere in your presentation. You’ll learn more about the SmartArt Tools tab, and how to add text to a SmartArt graphic. You’ll also learn how to work with a Smart Art graphic design, such as changing the layout or right-left orientation.

Module 4 : Advanced Drawing Tasks

This module will introduce more tools to help you work with shapes, text boxes, SmartArt, and other objects. You’ll learn about using the alignment guides to help you place your objects. This module will explain how to rotate and flip objects. You’ll also learn about aligning and distributing objects to ensure the slide looks right. You can also order your objects to create a layered look. Finally, this module explains how to group objects so that you can work with a number of related pieces all at one time without having to select them individually.

Module 5 : Adding Tables

This module will explain how to work with tables. You’ll learn how to add tables to your presentation and add text to the table. You’ll also learn about the Table Tools tab. This module explains how to modify rows and columns. Finally, you’ll learn how to format a table, so that it looks just like you want it to.

Module 6 : Inserting Audio and Video

You may have used narration in your presentations. You can further enhance your presentations with audio from your PC or online. You can also record audio to include in your presentations. Likewise, video clips can enhance your presentation even further. You can insert video from your PC or online.

Module 7 : PowerPoint’s Research Tools

This module explains how to use PowerPoint’s research tools. It’s always a good idea to check your spelling to make sure your presentation is professional. You can also use the Research Task Pane to use the dictionary, thesaurus and other research links. The Thesaurus also has its own pane. The Mini Translator allows you to see screen tips of translated words as you are working. You can set the language to make sure the PowerPoint’s proofing tools are working with the correct language.

Module 8 : Preparing for Your Presentation

PowerPoint is here to help you give the best professional presentation possible. This module helps you prepare for your presentation by learning how to add notes to slides and view the Notes page. You’ll also learn how to print notes and create handouts to prepare for you presentation. Finally, you’ll get an introduction to the presenter view, which is a way to easily control your presentation while you audience watches a separate screen that only shows the slides.

Module 9 : Using Slide Masters

A slide master is a template that can help you save time in developing a consistent look to your slides. You can have more than one master if you need a different look for different sections or different types of slides. This module explains how to switch to the slide master view and use the slide master tab. You’ll learn how to create a slide master in addition to the default slide master. You’ll learn how to apply different slide masters to your slides. You’ll also learn how to edit a slide master. Finally, we’ll look at the master guides.

Module 10 : Advanced Presentation Tasks

In this module, you’ll learn about different methods of sharing your presentation, such as via a link or in an online presentation (web browser) for viewers who don’t have PowerPoint to view on their own computers. You’ll also learn how to create a custom show to use the same base presentation for different audiences or other customized shows. Finally, you’ll learn how to record your show as a video and how to package your presentation for a CD.
