In this course, you will learn the basic functionality and editing essentials that will allow you to produce high quality publications for both personal and business use. Microsoft Publisher 2007 is a flexible and powerful authoring tool. This course will teach you how to begin, edit, format and produce a publication in Microsoft Publisher 2007. This course is a hands-on class that will have you producing documents today. Once you gain a basic understanding of Microsoft Publisher 2007, you will be able to produce a wide variety of documents for publication. Before we can begin, let us get to know each other better and review some basic workshop expectations.
In this module, we are going to learn some fundamental aspects of publisher. Although many of us may be familiar with opening programs on the computer, it is best that we all begin at the same starting point. This way we all progress through the class as a group. Later in this module, we will learn the features and interfaces found in publisher as well as creating a blank document and closing publisher. Let us start from the beginning.
In this module, you will learn how to save, open and close files in publisher 2007. In addition, you will learn how to use the Recent Publications feature to access work you have done previously. First, let us learn how to save a publication.
We are now ready to create our first publication. In this module, you will learn how to set up your business information, add text, navigate a publication, add new pages and work with pages. Let us begin with setting up your business information
In this module, you will learn how to perform basic editing maneuvers that will help you manipulate the text in your publication with speed and ease. Let us begin with learning how to cut text, copy text and paste text.
In this module, you are going to learn how to use the Format Publication Task pane in publisher 2007. This task pane gives you the ability to set page options, font schemes, color schemes and publication options. Let us start by learning how to access the Format Publication task pane.
In this module, you are going to learn how to do basic formatting of the text in your publication. Changing the font, size, color, styles and making enhancements to your text are the specific topics we are going to discuss. Let us begin with changing the font of your text.
We are going to work with our publication we created earlier and finish it throughout the remaining four modules. So far, you learned basic formatting techniques for the text in your publication. Now you are going learn how to format the paragraphs. The next two modules are dedicated to formatting the paragraphs in your publication. We are going to start with the spacing between the sentences in the paragraphs.
In this module, you are continuing to learn more about formatting paragraphs. You are going to learn how to add bullets, numbering, borders and shading. In addition, you are going to learn how to use the Paragraph dialogue box, giving you more tools for formatting the paragraphs of your publication.
In this module, you are going to learn how to format the page in publisher 2007. You will learn how to add columns, change the background, add page numbers and apply a page master. We will begin with adding columns to a page.
You are satisfied with the look of your publication, you are ready to perform the final editing touches to your document. In this module, you will learn how to spell check your work, preview it, print it and e-mail it to someone. Let us begin this module with spell checking your work.
